The 22-year-old’s epic knock spearheaded a formidable total of 521, Sussex's highest of the season, after Glamorgan had been dismissed for 155 in their first innings.
Coles, who had previously shown glimpses of returning form with an unbeaten 63 for England Lions earlier in the week, showcased exceptional timing and power throughout his innings. He reached his ninth first-class century with a straight drive, but it was his acceleration in the latter stages, particularly with the lower order, that truly piled the pressure on Glamorgan. A record 103-run last-wicket stand with Jaydev Unadkat, who contributed 12 runs, highlighted the extent of Sussex's dominance.
