American comedian Carrot Top, 61, was rushed to hospital and admitted on Friday night, leading to the cancellation of his Las Vegas shows. His performances scheduled for Friday and Saturday at the Luxor in Las Vegas were affected.
A representative for Mr. Thompson stated that he is "recovering in the hospital and is receiving the care and support he needs." The statement also conveyed gratitude from his family and those closest to him for concern and prayers, respectfully asking for privacy.
MGM Resorts International, owner of the Luxor, expressed relief at his recovery, calling him a "beloved member of the Luxor and MGM Resorts family."
Carrot Top, known for his prop comedy, has held a residency at the Luxor Hotel since November 2005. His next scheduled performance at the Luxor is on Monday, 21 September, though it is currently unknown if this show will proceed.
