The Commonwealth Games 2026 have officially kicked off in Glasgow, Scotland, featuring a slimmed-down 10-sport programme. The event, which saw Glasgow step in as the host city after Victoria, Australia, backed out three years ago, will showcase athletics, gymnastics, cycling, and swimming across four venues.

The 11,000-capacity Scotstoun Stadium will serve as the main venue for the athletics, including a showcase performance by new mile world record holder Josh Kerr. The Games will also feature six Para sports, providing opportunities for athletes with disabilities to compete for gold.

Day 1 (Thursday 23 July 2026):

Bowls and Para Bowls: 9:30am-4:25pm, 8:30am-2:15pm, 3pm-10:15pm

OPENING CEREMONY: 8pm-10pm

Day 2 (Friday 24 July 2026):

3x3 Basketball and 3x3 Wheelchair Basketball: 10pm-1:30pm, 2:30pm-6pm, 7pm-9:30pm

Artistic Gymnastics: 10pm-4pm, 5:30pm-9:15pm

Boxing: 11am-2:30pm, 6pm-9:45pm

Para Powerlifting: 1pm-4:30pm, 6pm-9:30pm

Swimming and Para Swimming: 10:30am-1pm, 7pm-10pm

And so on, with the full schedule available for viewing.

The Commonwealth Games will be shown live on TNT Sports and HBO Max, rather than on the BBC or terrestrial television.
