The Conveyancing Association (CA) has announced a comprehensive summer webinar programme designed to equip conveyancing firms across the UK with essential knowledge and tools. Running throughout June, July, and August, the series will address key operational, regulatory, and broader business issues impacting property transactions and the practices that facilitate them. These sessions are being delivered in collaboration with various affiliate members of the CA, pooling expertise from across the sector.
The initiative highlights the accelerating pace of change within the conveyancing industry, driven by evolving regulations, new technologies, shifting consumer expectations, and wider market developments. By offering practical insights, the CA aims to help firms stay informed and adapt to these challenges, ensuring they can continue to provide efficient and compliant services.
The first webinar, scheduled for 24 June, will be delivered in partnership with Post Partner. This session will focus on strategies for firms to automate post allocation and document handling processes, aiming to significantly reduce administrative workloads. Streamlining such tasks is crucial for improving efficiency and reducing overheads in busy property markets.
Following this, a second webinar on 7 July, in collaboration with Move Reports, will delve into the intricacies of stamp duty procedures. A significant focus will be on the implications for law firms potentially needing to register as tax advisers, a development that could add new layers of compliance and responsibility to their operations. Understanding these procedural shifts is vital for ensuring accurate and compliant property tax submissions.
Nicky Heathcote, non-executive chair at the CA, emphasised the value of the programme, stating that it provides an excellent opportunity to share practical knowledge from their Affiliate Member community.
