Count Binface, the self-styled intergalactic space warrior, is set to achieve his highest share of the vote yet in the Clacton by-election. Counting is currently underway in the Essex coastal constituency, where Binface is the primary rival to Reform UK leader Nigel Farage.
The comedian Jon Harvey, who portrays Count Binface, has previously challenged three prime ministers and one soon-to-be prime minister. His previous vote counts include 249 votes in 2017 against Theresa May as Lord Buckethead, 69 votes in 2019 against Boris Johnson, and 308 votes in 2024 against Rishi Sunak, which was his best result at the time. In June 2026, he received 95 votes against Andy Burnham in the Makerfield by-election.
Candidates in UK elections must pay a £500 deposit and secure support from 10 people. Binface has lost his deposit in every election he has contested, as he has not met the minimum 5% of votes required for its return.
