A couple who have been together for six years and had a baby last year are still experiencing difficulties with their sex life, despite improvements in their relationship following couples therapy. The woman, 20 years younger than her 60-year-old husband, reported that she takes a while to orgasm, while her husband orgasms quickly and becomes impatient.
She also has longstanding health issues that make sex painful, which her husband has reportedly been respectful of. However, she stated he becomes defensive when asked to try new things for her pleasure. He bought sex toys, which she viewed as him avoiding the effort.
The husband reportedly told his wife he has been a lover to "lots of" women and has suggested she sleep with other men, provided she does not tell him. Sex and relationship psychotherapist Silva Neves suggested the sexual problem could be related to connection and a lack of interest or curiosity from the husband, possibly due to ageing, low energy, or low testosterone.
