An experienced cruiser, who has embarked on more than 50 river, expedition, and ocean cruises, has revealed nine essential items they never travel without. These items are designed to make cruise trips more comfortable and organised.
Among the recommendations is an over-the-door hanging shoe organiser, which the expert uses to store small toiletries and other items, rather than shoes. Strong magnetic hooks are advised for hanging, as tape or built-in hooks may not be permitted by cruise lines.
Other suggested items include a crossbody phone bag for easy access to devices during shore excursions or while checking ship activities, and a collapsible mesh laundry hamper to keep worn clothes tidy. A handheld fan is also recommended for warm destinations, along with dry bags to protect electronics and separate damp swimwear.
For cabin convenience, a foldable charging station is suggested to maximise limited power outlets, and a night light can help navigate dark staterooms. Towel bands are advised to secure towels on windy decks, and a travel blanket can provide comfort in various settings.
