Personnel from the UK's Cyber & Specialist Operations Command (CSOC) have been formally acknowledged in His Majesty, King Charles’ Birthday Honours List 2026. The prestigious awards recognise the significant contributions made by both current and former members of CSOC to the nation's defence, particularly in the increasingly vital domain of cyber security and specialist operations.

The honours list features a broad spectrum of recognition, from the Commander of the British Empire (CBE) to various commendations. Royal Navy Captain A Coghill and British Army Acting Major General R S C Bell were both appointed CBEs, with Major General Bell's award specifically for 'Operations'. Further senior officers, including British Army Lieutenant Colonel I J Logan and Royal Air Force Group Captains A N Bennett and N J Duncan, received the Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE).

Members of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) were also awarded to several individuals, including British Army Acting Lieutenant Colonel A J P Shannon for 'Operations', and British Army Acting Lieutenant Colonel T Whitmarsh. These awards highlight the diverse roles and ranks involved in CSOC's crucial work. Additionally, Royal Navy Chief Petty Officer L J Fallon ARRC received the Ordinary Member of the Royal Red Cross, acknowledging her service in the Queen Alexandra’s Royal Naval Nursing Service.

Beyond the traditional honours, a range of commendations were issued, including the King’s Commendation for Valuable Service (KCVS) to Royal Air Force Group Captain K J Terrett and Royal Navy Lieutenant Commander A Shepherd. Meritorious Service Medals (MSM) were also presented to several warrant officers and flight sergeants across the services. These commendations extend to Vice Chief of the Defence Staff (VCDS) Commendations, Commander CSOC Commendations, and team awards for significant projects such as the Strategic Defence Review (SDR) Team and the Cyber Awareness, Behaviour and Culture Team, underscoring the collaborative nature of modern defence.

The recognition of CSOC personnel in the King's Birthday Honours List serves as a testament to the evolving landscape of national defence, where cyber capabilities and specialist operations play an increasingly central role. It underscores the dedication and expertise required to protect the UK from complex and persistent threats in the digital realm and beyond.
