Daniel Levy feels squeeze as Lewis family tightens grip on Tottenham

Former Spurs executive chairman Daniel Levy is being slowly squeezed out of Tottenham Hotspur's ownership structure by the Lewis family, who now hold a 67% stake in the club.

  • The Lewis family have injected around £320m in cash to increase their holding in Tottenham to 67%
  • Daniel Levy's stake has been diluted to around 25% after he chose not to match the Lewis family's investments

Daniel Levy is being slowly squeezed out of Tottenham Hotspur’s ownership structure but he could yet emerge as a major player in the NBA. The former Spurs executive chairman was ousted from the club he had run for 25 years in September 2025 by majority owners the Lewis family.

Tottenham are owned by parent company Enic Sports Inc, which in turn is wholly owned by Enic International Ltd, where Levy’s family trust held a stake of almost 30 per cent when he stepped down. Since then, however, the Lewis family have injected around £320m in cash, increasing their holding in Tottenham to 67 per cent.

Why this matters: The reduction in Levy's influence may impact his ability to sell his minority stake or make decisions for the club.

What this means for you: If you're a Tottenham fan, this development may impact the club's future ownership and decision-making process.
