Daryz, with jockey Mickaël Barzalona, secured his second consecutive victory in the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe on Sunday at Longchamp. This win makes Daryz the sixth colt in the race's history to achieve back-to-back triumphs, 48 years after Alleged's second victory in 1978.
Barzalona praised Daryz as an "exceptional horse," noting that the win proved his talent despite a challenging race where the pace was not strong and nothing went to plan. Trainer Francis-Henri Graffard also called Daryz a "champion," stating he was confident in the horse's ability to win.
Princess Zahra Aga Khan, who runs Aga Khan Studs, indicated that Daryz is likely to retire to stud. She stated that they are breeders and that running the horse again would involve taking a risk. Daryz is expected to complete his first season as a stallion with the Aga Khan Studs next year, meaning he will not attempt an unprecedented third Arc win.
