Dazn preparing for potential IPO after achieving 2025 profitability

Global sports streaming platform Dazn is preparing for a potential Initial Public Offering (IPO) following its achievement of EBITDA profitability in 2025.

  • Dazn achieved EBITDA profitability in 2025, reporting more than $100m.
  • The company has appointed new key personnel, including a new CFO who previously led a NASDAQ listing.
  • Dazn CEO Shay Segev stated that the goal of an IPO is not solely about raising money.

Dazn, the global sports streaming platform, is preparing for a potential Initial Public Offering (IPO), according to chief executive Shay Segev. This move follows the company's achievement of EBITDA profitability in 2025.

Mr Segev confirmed that Dazn had not yet decided on a timeframe for a float, nor whether the London-headquartered company would be listed on the FTSE or overseas. He stated that the advent of profitability, after losses totalling $10bn (£7.4bn) in its first nine years, and recent key personnel appointments, would help make Dazn "IPO ready".

While Dazn is yet to publish its 2025 accounts, Mr Segev indicated they would show "more than $100m EBITDA", a significant change from the $778m EBITDA loss in 2024. He also projected the figure could be around $250m in 2026.

Recent executive appointments include Patrick Delany as chief operating officer and Alex Gersh as chief financial officer. Mr Gersh previously led Sportradar’s NASDAQ listing. Mr Segev noted that the IPO's goal is not necessarily about raising money, but to support the business for its next stage of growth as a public company.
