Tottenham manager Roberto De Zerbi has revealed he banned phones during mealtimes at the club's recent warm-weather training camp in Marbella. This measure was part of his latest efforts to improve team spirit within the squad.
De Zerbi stated that the team "removed phones from breakfast, lunch and dinner to stay together because now it is like (phone) all the time." He added that the camp included important meetings about football and individual responsibility. The manager also mentioned that he had used similar training camps twice before with Marseille, finding them to be a good solution.
Spurs committed over £380 million on 10 new signings this summer, but the team will start Monday's home fixture against Coventry at the bottom of the Premier League. Fit-again Dejan Kulusevski was part of the Tottenham squad in Spain, alongside James Maddison, who is now available to play after damaging anterior cruciate ligaments in 2025.
