Tottenham manager Roberto De Zerbi has lauded the recent arrivals of Savio and Omar Marmoush, describing them as "bomba" additions to the squad. The club's summer spending has now exceeded £350 million following these deals.
Spurs secured Savio from Manchester City in an £85 million package, while Marmoush joined on a season-long loan from the same club, with an obligation to make the transfer permanent. The fee for Marmoush could potentially rise to £60 million.
De Zerbi, speaking ahead of Saturday's Premier League match against Newcastle, admitted the transfer window has surpassed his expectations. However, he hinted that one final player could be brought in before the 11pm transfer deadline on Tuesday.
Marmoush, who scored 37 goals in 18 months at Eintracht Frankfurt and 16 at Manchester City, arrives as Tottenham's eighth summer signing. He is expected to provide crucial attacking options, particularly with James Maddison lacking full fitness and Mohammed Kudus recently returning from injury.
New captain Micky van de Ven and Pedro Porro, who featured in Wednesday’s Carabao Cup victory, could start on Saturday. Savio is also set for his full debut, and Kudus may be included in the squad for the first time since January.
