Death From Above 1979, the Canadian rock duo, have revealed details of their new studio album, 'Private Lives', which will be their first in six years. The record is set to be released on January 29, 2027, through their original label, Last Gang/MNRK.
The band has also released the album's title track, described as a "ripping rock song," which explores themes of seeking privacy in an era of overexposure. The single is accompanied by a music video starring actor Kim Bodnia and directed by Eva Michon.
Following the album announcement, Death From Above 1979 confirmed a North American tour for spring 2027. The tour is scheduled to commence on February 2 in Arizona and includes stops in cities such as Los Angeles, San Francisco, Brooklyn, Boston, and Seattle.
The upcoming 10-song LP features a collaboration with CSS on the track 'Mystery'. Band members Sebastien Grainger and Jesse F. Keeler stated that playing older songs during recent anniversary shows inspired them to create new music, with the album predominantly comprising unearthed demos.
