Debian contributors can now code with AI, disclosure optional

Debian, the open-source operating system project, has voted to permit its contributors to use artificial intelligence (AI) in their coding efforts. The new policy states that while AI use is allowed, disclosure of its application by contributors will be optional.

Despite the flexibility regarding disclosure, the project maintains that code quality remains a mandatory requirement for all contributions.
