Contributors to the Debian project, known for its free operating system, have voted to allow the use of AI tools in their coding work. The decision stipulates that while the use of AI tools is permitted, disclosure of their use is optional.
Despite the optional disclosure, the project maintains that the quality of the code produced remains a mandatory requirement for all contributions.
