Glentoran manager Declan Devine is set to leave the east Belfast club after an agreement was reached on Monday regarding his departure. The decision comes amidst a challenging start to the Irish Premiership season, with the Glens winless in their last three league games.
Devine's final game at the helm was a 1-1 draw against Bangor at the Oval on Saturday, a result met with boos from the home supporters. Glentoran currently sit eighth in the table, having accumulated seven points from their opening six fixtures.
Devine, a former Glens goalkeeper, initially took over as interim boss in March 2024 before being appointed permanently the following month. He led the team to the County Antrim Shield in the 2024-25 season, marking their first trophy in five years.
Despite significant investment in the playing squad, the club has not finished higher than third under Devine and experienced defeats in back-to-back BetMcLean Cup finals in 2025 and 2026. Glentoran are now seeking their fourth manager since January 2023 as they prepare to face Coleraine on Tuesday.
