Deeney names Premier League Team of the Week including Chelsea and Brentford stars

Former footballer Troy Deeney has revealed his Premier League Team of the Week, featuring players from Leeds, Brentford, Hull City, Chelsea, Brighton, Manchester City, Arsenal, and Newcastle.

BBC football pundit Troy Deeney has unveiled his Premier League Team of the Week following the latest round of matches. The selection features a mix of established and emerging talents across various clubs.

Among the standout performers, James Trafford of Leeds earned his spot after a strong display at Nottingham Forest, keeping a clean sheet. Brentford's Keane Lewis-Potter was recognised for his defensive and attacking contributions, including a goal against Tottenham. Hull City's Nobel Mendy was highlighted as a powerful defender who also scored.

Chelsea saw two players make the cut: Maxence Lacroix, praised for his experienced debut and an assist, and Cole Palmer, who Deeney believes is set for a breakout season. Brighton's Maxim de Cuyper was included after scoring two goals against Aston Villa, while Manchester City's Marc Guehi was selected as a holding midfielder, scoring an equaliser against Bournemouth.

Vitaly Janelt of Brentford was noted for his dominant play and a goal against Aston Villa. Arsenal's Christos Tzolis, a new signing from Club Brugge, was lauded for his goals, assists, and tenacious influence. Newcastle's Anthony Elanga completed the attacking line-up, with Deeney noting his improved performance under a new manager. Sergej Jakirovic of Hull City was named Manager of the Week for his tactical approach against Manchester United.
