Deloitte acquires The Orange Partnership amid infrastructure spending rise

Deloitte has acquired The Orange Partnership, a Midlands-based construction consultancy, to enhance its services for major infrastructure projects.

  • Deloitte has acquired The Orange Partnership, a consultancy specialising in cost verification and assurance in construction.
  • The acquisition aims to capitalise on increased demand for financial controls in major infrastructure projects.
  • The UK government committed at least £725bn in public funding for infrastructure over the next 10 years, as revealed last June.

Deloitte has acquired The Orange Partnership, a Midlands-based construction consultancy. The deal, which went live on Tuesday, sees the boutique firm's team integrate into Deloitte's UK operations within its capital projects advisory capability.

The acquisition comes as Deloitte aims to capitalise on the growing demand for tighter financial controls on major infrastructure projects. The Orange Partnership specialises in cost verification and cost assurance within the construction sector.

Darren Ward, former founder and managing director of The Orange Partnership, has joined Deloitte as a senior director. Ian Jackson, a partner at Deloitte UK, stated that clients are increasingly seeking "resilient delivery" and stricter governance over infrastructure spending.

The UK government revealed its 10-year infrastructure strategy last June, committing at least £725bn in public funding for infrastructure over the coming decade.

Why this matters: The acquisition strengthens Deloitte's ability to provide cost verification and assurance services during a period of significant government investment in infrastructure.
