Celebrations are erupting in Ashburton, Devon, as local hero Clem So marks an incredible milestone – his 65th film role! The talented actor, known for his supporting appearances in Marvel, James Bond, and Star Wars, is over the moon to bring 'Masters of the Universe' to life on the big screen.
So's impressive CV boasts a staggering array of A-list franchises, including five Marvel blockbusters, three Bond-flicks, and three Star Wars movies – not to mention 11 episodes of sci-fi legend 'Doctor Who'. He recalled the unforgettable experience of working on 'Star Wars: The Force Awakens', where he played a resistance fighter alongside some of the most iconic characters in cinema history. "It was like stepping into a giant cosplay event, but real!" So exclaimed, reminiscing about filming at Pinewood Studios amidst droids and X-wing fighters.
Now, So brings his unique energy to 'Masters of the Universe', a live-action reboot of the beloved 80s cartoon classic. He plays an advisor to He-Man's dad, the King of Eternia, sharing scenes with heavy-hitters Idris Elba and James Purefoy. The film was shot on location across the UK, with So proudly showcasing his Devon roots – from Elstree Studios in London to Wells Cathedral in Somerset and Beer Quarry Caves in east Devon.
So's journey into acting began with a nudge from his brother Tom, who had a role in 'Casino Royale'. With their uncanny resemblance, Clem decided to take the leap, joining agencies and gradually building his reputation as a talented supporting actor. Though now a seasoned pro, So still has his sights set on future projects – perhaps even landing a spot in the 'Star Trek' universe or lending his voice to a 'Thunderbirds' remake.
'Masters of the Universe' is out now on Prime Video in the UK – don't miss it!
