The Discount Suit Company, a subterranean cocktail bar operating since 2014, has been recognised as a finalist for Best Bar in City AM’s Toast the City Awards. Located in the basement of a former tailor shop on Petticoat Lane, near Liverpool Street Station, the venue is described as a hidden speakeasy.
Founded by drinks professionals Andy Kerr, Stephen Thompson, and Alastair Tatton, the bar was established to offer an alternative to what they saw as pretentious venues and high prices. The space, decorated with vintage tailor-shop details, focuses on friendly service and a curated drinks menu.
The bar's speciality is cocktails, which are priced at £10 per glass. Options include the Corn Star, featuring mezcal, buttered corn, and citrus, and the Moonstomp, a blend of homemade whisky, sake, mango, and coconut. A Petticoat Lane Punch is available for groups of at least four people for £35. The cocktail menu, along with cheese and charcuterie selections, changes regularly.
