Dolly Parton's sister, Freida, has publicly denied any family 'feud' after a restraining order was filed against the late country music icon's nephew, Bryan Seaver. Seaver, who served as Parton's long-time head of security and announced her death last month, was fired on September 15.
She's Alive, the corporation managing Parton's business ventures, filed the restraining order on Tuesday, September 22. They accused Seaver of launching "an obscene, deliberate, and escalating campaign of threats" to extract money from Parton's estate, according to The New York Times. The court filing reportedly included text messages, allegedly from Seaver, containing "harassing and ominous threats" against Dollywood business partners.
Seaver told TMZ that he "stands by" most of his comments, alleging they were taken out of context and were "two guys having rage talk and crying on the phone together while we were grieving." He also told ABC News that the restraining order is "spurious and simply a publicity stunt."
Freida Parton posted on Instagram, stating, "No-one among the Parton/Owens family is fighting over Dolly's estate. We all love Bryan, just as we all love each other."
