Liverpool midfielder Dominik Szoboszlai has signed a new five-year contract with the club, committing his future to Anfield until he is 30. The Hungary captain had entered the last two years of his previous deal but has now agreed to stay with the Reds for the next five years.
Szoboszlai, who scored 13 goals and provided 12 assists last season, has been instrumental in Liverpool's recent success, including their Premier League title win in 2024-25. He believes his best years are ahead of him and has targeted winning the Champions League before he leaves the club.
Speaking to Liverpool's club website, Szoboszlai described signing the new contract as one of the biggest days of his career, saying: 'There's always more to come. I'm never happy. I'm happy with myself but I think I can do even better.'
Liverpool have also brought in winger Victor Munoz this summer and defender Jeremy Jacquet has joined the squad, with new head coach Andoni Iraola at the helm. Szoboszlai's contract is a significant boost to Iraola's team as they prepare for the new season.
The 24-year-old midfielder was a £60m signing from RB Leipzig in 2023 and has quickly become a key player for Liverpool. With his new contract, he will be at the club for the majority of his prime years, giving him the opportunity to achieve his goal of winning the Champions League.
