Dortmund agree season-long loan for Arsenal's Ethan Nwaneri

Borussia Dortmund have agreed a deal with Arsenal to sign 19-year-old forward Ethan Nwaneri on a season-long loan.

  • The German club moved for Nwaneri after new signing Giannis Konstantelias sustained a significant knee injury.
  • Arsenal reportedly prioritised loan offers for Nwaneri, as they do not want to sell the player.
  • Nwaneri is expected to undergo a medical and complete the move before the Bundesliga transfer deadline.

Borussia Dortmund have reached an agreement with Arsenal to bring 19-year-old forward Ethan Nwaneri to the German club on a season-long loan. This move comes after Dortmund's new signing, Giannis Konstantelias, suffered a significant knee injury during Saturday's 2-0 victory over Hamburg.

Nwaneri, who Dortmund reportedly attempted to sign last summer, is now expected to travel to Germany for a medical examination and to finalise the transfer before the Bundesliga transfer deadline at 19:00 BST.

Arsenal had reportedly been prioritising loan offers for their academy graduate, as they are not looking to sell him. With a wealth of attacking talent at manager Mikel Arteta's disposal, Nwaneri was likely to face limited opportunities at Arsenal this season, and there is a belief that increased game time elsewhere would benefit the teenager.
