Jack Draper has urged patience as he continues his recovery from what he describes as a 'perfect storm' of injuries, with his hopes of a first grand slam appearance of the year at the US Open still in doubt.
The former world number four, now ranked 147, withdrew from the DC Open due to an arm injury, casting further uncertainty over his participation in New York. He has not featured at any of the three grand slams in 2026.
Speaking to Sky Sports News, Draper said: 'It's important for people to recognise as well that the injury I have is very complex, it's very complicated and everyone around me is doing everything we can to help this keep moving along.'
He added: 'I'm in the best place that I've been in the last year. The process that I've been on it's a real patience game.'
Draper, who is coached by Andy Murray, has been given a wildcard for the National Bank Open in Montreal ahead of US Open qualification. He is scheduled to play two tournaments before the US Open.
