Residents in the Fenland village of Parson Drove, near Wisbech, have expressed confusion over diversion signs that appear to contradict each other. Drivers have reported being unsure which way to turn due to signs pointing both left and right on Main Road.

Lisa Boreham, a local resident, stated that following one diversion sign led her back to her starting point. Another resident, Luke Bundock, described the situation as "chaos" and said he also "went round in circles" due to the signage.

Debbie Lewis, who works at the Swan pub in Parson Drove, noted that the diversions and road closures are affecting trade. She added that a relative experienced an hour-long delay due to the unclear signs.

Anglian Water, which began replacing ageing water pipes in the area on 28 September, has acknowledged concerns regarding the signage. A spokesperson for the company said they have contacted their operational teams to "review the arrangements and ensure the signage is clear and coherent for motorists."
