The Duchess of Sussex has made her first official public appearance since returning to the UK. Meghan arrived at a youth charity in Nottingham on Thursday morning alongside her husband, the Duke of Sussex.
The couple, who are expected to visit a food bank and another youth support group later, hugged and posed for selfies with members of the public. A spokesperson for Harry and Meghan stated that Nottingham is "a special place" for them, as it was the location of their first joint appearance after their engagement announcement in 2017.
The Royal Household views the Duke and Duchess as private citizens, and they are attending these events as public figures and supporters of the projects. Prince Harry has supported the Community Recording Studio, their first stop, since 2013. Its CEO, Trevor Rose, told the BBC they were informed of the visit a few weeks ago.
Harry and Meghan's spokesperson told BBC News they were "really excited" to be back in Nottingham, nine years after their last joint visit. The couple and their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, returned to the UK in August after six years in the US. They have reportedly settled in the Cotswolds.
