The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) has released its latest official statistics concerning individuals on Universal Credit (UC) who have a health condition or disability that restricts their ability to work. These statistics cover the period up to June 2026.
The published data includes information on the caseload of UC health claimants, detailing their stage in the process, whether pre-Work Capability Assessment (WCA) or post-WCA with limited capability for work (LCW) or limited capability for work and work-related activity (LCWRA). It also breaks down figures by month, age, gender, and geographical area within Great Britain.
Additionally, the release provides statistics on Employment and Support Allowance (ESA) transitions, LCWRA entitlement awards, and the number of DWP UC WCA decisions, categorised by outcome and geographical area.
