EasyJet is set to remove an additional 700,000 seats from its winter flight schedule. This decision comes as the airline aims to manage rising fuel costs, according to chief executive Kenton Jarvis.
The latest reduction follows an initial cut of approximately 600,000 to 700,000 winter flight seats implemented earlier this summer. EasyJet typically offers around 50 million seats during the winter season, which runs from October to the end of March.
Mr Jarvis reportedly told the Financial Times that the industry has been surprised by how high fuel prices have remained. Jet fuel costs have roughly doubled since the start of the Iran conflict in February.
