The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) CEO, Richard Gould, has stated that tickets for the next Ashes series in 2027 are expensive. Fans may need to pay hundreds of pounds to attend Australia’s Test tour to England next summer.
Edgbaston, one of the host venues, has reportedly increased its prices by over 40 per cent. Gould noted that Ashes ticket prices range from £90 to £165, depending on the venue and seat location. He also mentioned that inflation has risen by 20 per cent since the last Ashes series.
Gould stated that all money generated from cricket is reinvested into the sport, including grassroots cricket, funding premier leagues, and supporting England teams. The 2027 Ashes series is scheduled to conclude before August, potentially exposing fans to early-summer rain.
The 2027 series will not feature a Test match hosted north of Nottingham. However, Gould has pledged that Ashes Tests will return to the North in future series, specifically between 2027 and 2039, with Headingley or Old Trafford typically hosting a match.
