Estate agency Edward Mellor is progressing with plans to redevelop its long-standing head office on St Petersgate in Stockport town centre. The proposals outline up to 190 apartments across three blocks.
Early-stage proposals have been submitted to Stockport Council as part of the environmental impact assessment screening process. The project team is now preparing a full planning application for the site.
The scheme, designed by Ollier Smuthwaite Architects, would retain 63-81 St Petersgate, a locally listed building Edward Mellor has occupied since 2004. It also includes two new-build blocks, one fronting Lord Street with eight- and 12-storey elements, and another on Lawrence Street rising to six storeys. Additionally, the plans propose around 20,000 sq ft of office and retail space.
Edward Mellor chief executive Colin Mellor heads Petersgate Property Developments, which submitted the latest plans, alongside Connor and Jessica Mellor.
