The Eiffel Tower is set to be transformed into an intimate cinematic venue this autumn as part of the acclaimed Cinema Paradiso film festival. For the first time in its history, the iconic landmark will host free pop-up cinema screenings from 24 to 27 September 2026.
Organised by mk2, a network of arthouse cinemas, the event will showcase nine films over four days at the Salle Gustave Eiffel – a large event space situated on the first floor. The full programme remains under wraps until early September, but enthusiasts can already start counting down to what promises to be an extraordinary experience.
Admission is free, but securing a spot will require entering a public lottery, set to open in September. Winners will then receive electronic tickets via a registration form – ensuring that access to this highly anticipated event remains fair and inclusive for all.
The announcement follows the successful sixth edition of Cinema Paradiso, which took place at the Louvre in June. Renowned directors including Wes Anderson and Oscar-winner Joachim Trier attended, introducing their films to a star-studded crowd.
Since its inception at Paris's Grand Palais in 2013, Cinema Paradiso has built a reputation for blending film screenings with cultural experiences – often incorporating live music, food, and nightlife. The festival's diverse locations have included La Seine Musicale, the Villa Carmignac, and even the 24 Hours of Le Mans circuit.
