  • e.l.f. Cosmetics is giving away thousands of 10-hour blocks of driving lessons to UK learners.
  • The initiative, "Grip, Set, Go," partners with RED Driver Training to make learning to drive more accessible.
  • Learning to drive in the UK can cost up to £3,000, with many young people abandoning lessons due to expense.
  • Research indicates a driving licence significantly impacts job opportunities and earning potential for women and young people.
  • The campaign includes educational content, an in-person event, and e.l.f.-branded cars in high-demand areas.

e.l.f. Cosmetics' "Grip, Set, Go" campaign is a timely intervention into a crisis affecting thousands of young people in the UK - the prohibitively expensive cost of learning to drive. A staggering 60% of learners have abandoned lessons due to rising expenses, which can reach as high as £3,000 for a licence.

The consequences of not having a driving licence are far-reaching and disproportionately affect women. Over 70% of those surveyed by e.l.f. said it made them feel more empowered, while over a third reported missing out on job opportunities due to the lack of one. Furthermore, half believed it had an impact on their earning potential.

e.l.f.'s initiative not only offers blocks of 10 free driving lessons but also includes educational content across its social media channels and will deploy e.l.f.-branded cars in areas with long test centre waitlists and high learner demand. The brand's General Manager, Yana Yarmova, said the goal is to make every learner feel confident and capable.

UK learners can enter a sweepstakes from 9th July to 31st July via e.l.f.'s website for the chance to win a 10-hour lesson block. An in-person activation, "The Power Grip Garage," will be held at Protein Studios, London on 30th July.
