British fighter Ellie Scotney is set to challenge WBC featherweight champion Tiara Brown in Arlington, Texas, on 8 November. The 28-year-old Scotney, who previously held undisputed super-bantamweight champion status, vacated her title in April to step up a division.

Scotney aims to become a two-weight world champion, stating, "I can't wait for the next chapter to begin at 126lb, where I truly believe the world will see the best of me." She added, "It's time to make more history and become a two-weight world champion."

The bout against 38-year-old American Brown will serve as the co-main event on the MVPW-07 card, which features a total of four world title fights. Scotney boasts a perfect professional record of 12 victories, all achieved by decision.

The event will be headlined by Elif Nur Turhan's IBF lightweight defence against Alycia Baumgardner. Also on the bill, Somali-British boxer Ramla Ali will face American Mikiah Kreps for vacant WBO and IBF super-bantamweight titles, and Australia's Skye Nicolson defends her WBC super-bantamweight belt against Japan's Miyo Yoshida.

Why this matters: Ellie Scotney's pursuit of a second world title could solidify her status as a prominent figure in British boxing.
