The British Gas Energy Trust offers grants, with its Individuals and Families Fund scheduled to open on 1 October 2026. Eligibility for this fund may include qualifying debt on a current energy account and recent money advice. Some funds may require applicants to first apply to their own supplier's support scheme.
Beyond grants, other forms of assistance are available. The Warm Home Discount for winter 2026/27, a £150 discount typically applied to an electricity bill, is expected to reopen in October 2026.
