England have ascended to the top of the T20 world rankings following a decisive 3-0 series sweep against Sri Lanka. The final match, held in Manchester, saw England secure an eight-wicket victory, completing a hat-trick of wins within five days.

Sri Lanka were dismissed for just 124 runs, marking their lowest total to date. England comfortably chased down the target in less than 10 overs, with 62 balls remaining. This performance puts England back ahead of India, with the two nations having exchanged the number one position three times in the last two months.

Jos Buttler led the chase with an unbeaten 62 runs from 32 balls, forming an 85-run partnership with captain Harry Brook. On the bowling front, Sonny Baker, Jofra Archer, and Will Jacks each claimed two wickets. Pathum Nissanka was Sri Lanka's top scorer with 36 runs before being removed by a diving catch from Brook.
