As Idle's career progressed, he made improvements to the house, eventually adding water and electricity. This led to a steady stream of high-profile guests, including David Bowie, Art Garfunkel, Penny Marshall, Lauren Hutton, Brian Cox (both the professor and the actor), Paul Simon, Carrie Fisher, Robin Williams, and George Harrison. Other visitors included Michael Palin and various members of Monty Python, as well as Ronnie Wood and other Rolling Stones.
Idle reportedly shared that the mornings were the most challenging time when hosting guests of this calibre.
