Estate agency owner David Rebe has expanded his portfolio with the acquisition of the Basingstoke operation of Martin & Co. This deal marks his third location, adding to his existing businesses in Oxford and Thame.
Rebe, who joined the Martin & Co network in March 2024 with the acquisition of the Oxford and Thame branches, stated his goal is to grow a network of branches. He plans further expansion through both acquisitions and organic growth.
The Basingstoke business has an established client base and an experienced team, with most employees having been with the agency for several years. Rebe noted that acquiring an established, well-performing branch with a team was an important factor in his decision.
He intends to spend the next few months assessing the Basingstoke operation before considering opportunities for further development. Rebe also highlighted the importance of customer service, stating, "There is no substitute for exceptional service."
Toby Phillips, group managing director of Martin & Co, commented that Basingstoke is an established business with strong local relationships and an experienced team, making it a good fit for Rebe's portfolio.
