Europe is set to host the Formula 1 season finale if the ongoing conflict in Iran disrupts planned Grands Prix in Qatar and Abu Dhabi. The motorsport season, which features 24 races, has already seen postponements for events in Saudi Arabia and Bahrain earlier this year, with the Bahrain Grand Prix now scheduled to take place in Malaysia.
The back-to-back conclusion of the season in Qatar and Abu Dhabi could be impacted by the continued conflict in the Middle East. A decision regarding the finale's location is anticipated in the autumn, as Formula 1 is currently on its annual mid-season hiatus.
Formula 1 president Stefano Domenicali confirmed that the races in Qatar and Abu Dhabi are currently confirmed and sold out. However, he stated that if the situation does not clear up as expected, a decision will be made before the middle of September. If the Middle Eastern venues are not possible, the season will conclude in Europe, as other locations are not viable.
