South Lake Tahoe in California has seen the biggest rise in traveller interest for 2027, according to Expedia's Unpack '27: The Trends in Travel report. Searches for the destination were up 195% year-on-year.
The report's data was compiled from increases in flight and accommodation searches on Expedia for travel from 1 September 2025 to 27 July 2026, compared with the same period in 2025.
Hyogo in Japan ranked second, followed by Punta del Este in Uruguay, Sedona in Arizona and Busan in South Korea.
Chichester was the only UK entry in the top ten. Expedia highlighted its historic cathedral, the South Downs and its proximity to Goodwood House.
The remaining destinations in the top ten were Holbox in Mexico, Perugia in Italy, The Tweed in New South Wales, Australia, and Niagara-on-the-Lake in Canada.
