The devastating loss of Khadeem Parris has left his family reeling after the 16-year-old was fatally stabbed in Northampton last week. As news of their son's tragic passing continues to sink in, Khadeem's loved ones have spoken out about the vibrant personality and bright future that will now never be realised.
According to a statement released by Northamptonshire Police on behalf of Khadeem's family, he was described as 'kind and strong', with a 'vibrant personality' that lit up those around him. As an older brother to his younger sister, Khadeem was particularly close to her and the family shared a special handshake that symbolised their bond.
Khadeem's resilience in the face of adversity has been highlighted by his family, who noted that he had 'coped with such a lot' in his young life. He was reportedly looking forward to starting college in August, where he intended to pursue dual qualifications as a plumber and electrician. In addition to his academic ambitions, Khadeem enjoyed computer games, football, and playful interactions with those close to him.
The profound grief of his loved ones is evident in their words: "Words can't explain how we feel at this time. We cannot understand it and we are utterly heartbroken at his loss."
Meanwhile, Northamptonshire Police confirmed that a 21-year-old man remains in police custody on suspicion of murder, while two men and a woman arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender have been released on bail as investigations continue.
