Family pays tribute to teenager killed in North Shields bike crash

The family of McKenzie Ratcliffe, 18, has paid tribute to him after he died in an electric motorbike crash on 19 August in North Shields.

The family of McKenzie Ratcliffe, an 18-year-old apprentice electrician, has paid tribute to him following his death in an electric motorbike crash. Mr Ratcliffe died after a collision with a van on Waterville Road in Meadow Well, North Shields, on 19 August.

His family described him as "such an amazing young man - he had his whole life ahead of him". They also thanked passersby, particularly a woman who performed CPR, and emergency services for their efforts.

The driver of the van, a man in his 60s, remained at the scene to assist Northumbria Police officers.
