The F&C Investment Trust, a FTSE 100 constituent and one of the UK's largest investment firms, has outlined its strategy for long-term growth. The trust, which has assets exceeding £7 billion and has delivered 55 consecutive years of rising dividends, invests in listed equities and private equity.
Fund Manager Paul Niven, who has managed the firm since mid-2014, highlighted three holdings: Mastercard, Infineon Technologies, and Live Nation Entertainment. These companies operate in different industries but are seen as benefiting from long-term shifts in demand.
Mastercard is noted for its role in the move towards card and digital payments, earning fees without taking credit risk. Infineon Technologies is a supplier of technology for electrification, energy efficiency, and AI infrastructure, particularly in power semiconductors. Live Nation Entertainment, the world's largest live entertainment company, has seen average annual revenue growth of 15% since the pandemic, benefiting from a shift in consumer spending towards experiences.
