The horse racing meeting at Ffos Las in South Wales has been brought forward by approximately two hours today, Wednesday, due to an impending solar eclipse. The British Horseracing Authority has rescheduled the first race from its original 17:40 BST slot to 15:35 BST.
The UK and parts of Europe are preparing for what is described as the most significant solar eclipse in nearly three decades, which is expected to begin shortly after 18:00 BST.
Other sporting events, including four Hundred cricket matches scheduled for Wednesday, will see floodlights used throughout their games. Officials at Kempton racecourse, with races at 19:00 and 19:30, stated there will be no disruption as their races were already planned to be under floodlights.
