Fifa is poised to propose a significant $3.4bn (£2.6bn) increase in funding for global football development. This move, which would double the planned distribution funding for 2027-2030, will be put forward at a Fifa council meeting on Thursday.
The world football governing body intends to release the additional money from its reserves. This comes after president Gianni Infantino's Fifa Forward Enterprise (FFE) plan, which sought to sell stakes in competitions to private investors, faced considerable criticism.
The proposed breakdown includes $25m (£19m) per member association, $99m (£75m) for each of the six confederations, and $8.25m (£6.3m) for each of the 13 zonal/regional associations. An additional $1.1m (£836,000) is earmarked for 100 member associations for travel and equipment solidarity.
The terms of distribution specify that one third of the funds would be allocated to women's and youth football development, another third to infrastructure with equal access for women's and youth football, and the final third to projects.
