US design software group Figma has expanded its London headquarters, moving into an office at Elder Yard in Norton Foldgate, near Liverpool Street. This expansion is part of the company's focus on growth in Britain, where firms created over 15 million files on its platform in the past year.
The UK is now Figma’s largest European market by weekly active users, with two-thirds of the FTSE 100 reportedly using its software as of the second quarter of 2026. Daniel Barrett, Figma’s senior vice president of international, stated that the UK has a deep concentration of design and product talent.
Figma used its office opening to discuss how AI is impacting design work. A recent survey by the company indicated that 34% of 421 UK designers and developers believe AI has already had a significant or transformational impact on collaboration, an increase from 14% last year. Noah Levin, Figma’s vice president of engineering, suggested AI is reducing the time between an idea and its realisation, enabling quicker prototyping, testing, and product changes.
This expansion by Figma, which has operated in London since 2019, follows a trend of American tech companies investing in London office space. Mayor of London Sadiq Khan described Figma’s move as a "vote of confidence in London’s position as a global leader in technology, design, and the creative industries".
