Five men have been arrested on suspicion of murder after a man was found dead in Salford. The man, in his 40s, was discovered unresponsive at a property on Great Clowes Street in the Broughton area at approximately 7:50 PM BST on Tuesday.
Greater Manchester Police confirmed the man was pronounced dead shortly after being found. The five arrested men, aged between 24 and 35, remain in police custody for questioning.
Det Ch Insp Ian Partington stated that officers are working to establish the exact circumstances leading to the man's death and are keeping an open mind. A post-mortem examination is underway to determine the cause of death, which is a key part of the investigation. Police have indicated they are confident there is no wider threat to the public.
