The Food Standards Agency (FSA) Board is convening its September 2026 meeting today, Wednesday 16 September, in Swansea. The meeting, which began at 9:00 am, is being chaired by Professor Susan Jebb, the FSA's Chair.
Key items on the agenda for discussion include an update on the FSA’s Sanitary and Phytosanitary (SPS) programme, recommendations to ministers regarding initial authorisations for CBD novel food applications, and a review of Annual Local Authority Performance. The Board is also set to discuss the future of food regulation, the Meat Charging Discount, and receive the Annual FSA Science Update. A report from the Director of FSA in Wales is also scheduled.
