Football pundit Rob Phillips has thanked his co-commentator Nathan Blake for his actions after Phillips suffered a suspected heart attack earlier this month. Phillips began experiencing severe chest pains after covering Cardiff City's defeat to Bolton.
Phillips had intended to drive home to south Wales, but Blake, a former Cardiff City player, noticed Phillips had lost all his colour and insisted he seek medical help. Phillips was taken to see the Bolton club doctor, David Humphreys, who told him he suspected he was having a heart attack.
Within an hour, Phillips was undergoing an operation to unblock an artery. Blake attributed his quick thinking to his mother's nurse training, recalling her advice to call an ambulance if someone loses colour.
