David Livesey, the former chief executive of Connells, has won his employment tribunal claims for unfair dismissal and age discrimination against Skipton Building Society. Mr Livesey, 67, had spent 33 years at Connells before his departure in 2023.
The tribunal dismissed an allegation of bullying but upheld the claims of unfair dismissal and age discrimination. It also concluded that Mr Livesey was treated less favourably over the valuation of his Connells shareholding, receiving 46p for shares that cost him £420,000.
Skipton Building Society, which acquired Connells in 2010, stated it was “disappointed” with the tribunal’s decision.
